Do I need a healthy homes inspection?

The Healthy homes standards became law on 1 July 2019. All private rentals must comply with the healthy home’s standards within a certain time frame from the start of any new, or renewed tenancy. You can use the compliance timeframes decision tool at tenancy.govt.nz if you’re not sure how long this time frame is for your property.

When will I receive my healthy homes inspection report?

We aim to have the healthy homes report to you within 48 hrs after the inspection. The report will be sent to the email provided during booking.

How long is a healthy homes inspection valid for?

The Healthy Homes Guarantee Act 2017 was introduced so that private rental properties meet a minimum standard for heating, insulation, ventilation, moisture ingress and drainage, and draught stopping. These standards are required to be maintained throughout a tenancy period and will require an up-to-date report upon every new, or renewed, tenancy Agreement.

What happens if my property is not compliant with the healthy home standards?

We will include any issues in your report, and if desired, arrange for any work to be done to meet the standards. Ask our team to arrange for a free quote.

Will I receive a healthy home’s compliance certificate?

No, you do not require a certificate. Once you have the report and the standards have been met, you can complete a Section 13A compliance statement and include it in all new or renewed tenancy agreements.

What types of services do you provide?

We can find a solution for any property maintenance, install, and repair needs. This includes indoors, outdoors, and gardens.

Will you be doing the work yourself?

We have a talented team of staff who can complete a wide range of the work required on most jobs, and also bring in well vetted, quality contractors if the job requires specialty skills or extra hands.

Working with us means having one point of contact for all your property maintenance work, no need to manage multiple contractors with competing schedules, we have it covered.

Are you insured?

Yes, we have appropriate liability insurance.

What if it is raining?

Weather conditions can sometimes cause a small delay depending on the type of work. We will communicate any delays asap.
